This 2018 Tundra came to the shop for better sound system with only one problem- Stock “top of the line” JBL system doesn’t sounds like “Top of the line”

System plan

Front speakers – Focal Kevlar 2- way components

Rear speakers- OEM Toyota

Subwoofers- 2 10″ Focal Flax shallow subwoofers in ported box

Amplifier Rockford Fosgate Power series 5 ch amplifier + DSR1

Starting with sound deadening for front doors

Next- front speakers. OEM Toyota speakers are 6×9. New Focal speakers have 6.5″ diameter and huge magnet

New and old tweeters

We can’t replace OEM radio, therefore we use Rockford Fosgate DSR-1 to get signal from the radio and send it to the aftermarket amplifier. DSR-1 also allow you to control your subwoofer via OEM radio screen. Just put more or less bass in the audio settings and it will work as bass-knob.

Now it’s time to wire up the amplifier and DSR-1 in OEM location.

Removing OEM amp

To fit new amp and DSP- we had to make little amp rack

All wired up and ready for install

We put this plastic grill to hide the amplifier and protect it

now it’s time to put subwoofers in the box and hide the box behid rear seats. Fits perfect!
