This 1989 Porsche 911 came to us for sound system upgrade. Old sound system was really old with CD changer and 25 years old Alpine V12 amplifier
Old speakers. Two way coaxials and extra tweeter with OEM crossover. Front speakers secured to the door panel. not to the metal. That’s why it doesn’t sound good
Also, this car has a very strong “Old car” smell. So we have to remove old and wet insulation and put new one. It took us two days to clean the floor, side panels and rear shelf.
Someone ran the wires for security system through the speaker hole…
So now we will start sound proofing. STP sound proofing materials for best results. Three different layers.
Floor panels covered with STP Bomb Aero
Rear deck and rear seat panels covered with STP Black Gold
Front doors also covered with STP Black Gold.
Second layer is a STP Aeroflex
Third layer on the rear deck for rear speakers is a STP Bimast Wave 15
New front speakers Focal ES165K Kevlar series secured to the metal
Rear speakers Kenwood 5×7 with clean looking Morel grilles
New amplifier Focal FPX4400SQ in the front
And as usual here is some videos
