Today we working on 2018 Road Glide speacial. Our “signature” set with Focal FDP Sport amplifier and Focal HDK-16514 speakers in the fairing with Rockford Fosgate 6×9 saddlebag speakers
But just four speakers is not enough! Customer wants little bit more!
So this “little bit more” turned out in 2 more speakers and one more amplifier.

And Rockford Fosgate 6×9 saddle bag speakers
Next- 4 channel amplifier inside the fairing.
I wish i can istall this amp here, but OEM radio is way too big
So i have to use oem location with custom made bracket (3mm aluminum plate)

Now it’s time for 8″ Marine Coaxial speakers with Horn tweeters
Lightweight marine speakers. Looks really nice!
The only way to install this speakers on this bike is to put them in saddlebags

Bracket must be 100% watertight! All the gaps filled with chopped fiberglass mat mixed with resin. It makes the bracket rock solid and watertight
Also i soaked the wood in fiberglass resin
Few layers of paint and clear coat for extra protection
Black carpet for finish look

Still have some room inside the saddlebags. Small helmet fits easy
Now it’s time for amplifier install.

After receiving email from and about bike shop doing Rockford Fosgate installs I was ecstatic to see this. I traced through info sent to me and found Rockford Fosgates certified dealer to flash radios. This lead me to Altered Sound on Speers road in Oakville so off I went for info.
I arrived there later in afternoon yesterday and met Ed owner of Altered Sound. I had many questions and concerns and we talked for a bit then he said it’s easier if I show you and took me into shop and introduced me to an installer. They were doing a refit and install on a 2019 Road Glide special and were quite aways through it. They removed a Boom 2 amp and speakers from fairing and installed Rockford Fosgate 4×100 amp and Focal kevlar speakers.Adding to that the installer Kieran told me that the saddlebag speaker grills and Rockford 6×9’s that they also just finished were a package . It wasn’t very much longer when they pieced it all back together when Ed the owner of the shop told Kieran to test it all out and passed him some fresh music to play. Kieran set up the balances side to side, front to back and bass and treble slowly working the volume up down up again slowly building big volume.
I was impressed at the volume of sound and clarity. All my questions and concerns were answered. I’m booking my appointment with Altered Sound for the same everything and as riding season winds down and winter closes in You can be damn sure I’ll be the first in line to take advantage of winter. After all as far as I have always known that’s the only reason we have winters up here, so we can do up our rides for the snow melt.
I have no hesitation in booking appointment with Altered Sound…RIDE ON…………..
